DEBBIE SILVERSMITH CUFF
When I bought this cuff, the mark was not identified by the seller, I found the mark belonged to Debie Silversmith, the Granddaughter of Kenneth Begay one of the most important and influential silversmiths of the 20th century. He worked in a style of simple and flowing lines, which are reflected in this piece. Aside from the family relationship. Debbie worked with her Grandfather and became proficient in Jewelry making by the time she was 12. She was born in 1957 and Kenneth Begay died in 1977. Which made it possible for her to work with him several years. Moreover, She received her Grandfathers tools, and lives on his old property in Arizona. I do not know when this cuff was made, but I think it is reflective of the style Kenneth Begay favored. A friend that makes a market in Native American Jewelry, and is very knowledgeable and helpful gave me the following information. You can view his listing on King Manassa Mine likely source for turquoise. Triple split-shank, flared terminals with great stamping. The Bezel that holds the stone, is somewhat different than usually used, it clearly shows the stone is epoxy to a base- which is relatively common, but often hidden by a solid bezel.
